WW weigh-In & a Blerg moment...

This Weeks WW Weigh-In

This Week = -4.8 lbs
Current Weight= 276 lb
Start Weight = 320 lbs 
Total Lost = 44 lbs

YAY -4.8 this week :)!! I'm glad it's kinda making up for last weeks gain! PHEWWW!


 Anyways, this friday I went to the dentist and got some much needed work done. After the dentist I felt fine and brought a change of clothes with me for the gym,
i didnt want to make excuses not to got to the gym...I figured it's my mouth that is numb..."why not!? :D"
I go and realize trying to drink water with half a numb mouth is kinda hard.  It reminded me of this little segment of a 30 Rock episode, except while on the arc trainer machine.

Blerg...

owell... at least I went to the gym once this past week. The other days were very busy with the holidays and having friends and family over.


I'd also just like to take note that I just joined the WW 8 weeks till thanksgiving challange!!!!

This is my 1st real challenge that I signed up for

Weigh-In - A few Gains ( Good & not sooo great)



Starting Weight = 320 lbs 

This Week = +3 ( -13.8 lbs since back from school)
Lost from start = 39 lbs

BLAH! (」゜ロ゜)」This past week was a 3 lb gain!!
Buuuttt I know exactly what happened, since this week is another HOLIDAY I'll be watching to make sure this week isn't a repeat. 
We actually did some real grocery shopping yesterday.
Last week all we purchased were item to make the turkey,brisket and matzo ball soup!
Let's just say that after two nights in a row of having our "holiday dinner" plus leftovers (that we still have) we were all looking for something else to snack on. It was just a very off week :-/

This week we'll have a fast and the breaking of a fast... that will be very interesting. I know my parents will be fasting, I on the other hand have some medications I'll be eating with...otherwise I'll be fasting along with my parents. A friend of mine will be spending Yom Kippur with us this year! YAY:]

Alright, to kinda sum up my plan for the breaking of the fast...
Usualllllyyy I'd have a few bagels and whatever else....ect......ect......
**( I had one bagel this year :} )
( I havn't been home for breaking of the fast since I was in High School, so being home for all these holidays will be a new experience to learn from it seems.

Oatmeal time!

Never expected to have a craving to try oatmeal- I remember having a bit when I was younger ( my grandparents loved the stuff!).  There was a buy 1 get 1 deal this week :} The variety packs made sense since I wasn't sure what flavors I like. 
I made mine with milk :}

The first flavor I tried was the Apple & Cinnamon in the Lower Sugar Package. It sounded great because I knew I could chop up some Golden Delicious with it! The last touch was some real cinnamon... I'm so happy I ended up loving it --- Don't know what I would have done with two boxes otherwise.

MY GOOD GAIN *other than finding a nice new breakfast option!* ( JUST SAYIN)...
I beat Katamari Damacy the other night! Like I said I would :P
hahha I play this game way too much.

I just finished cleaning the house.. It's 5 Am :/ I should probably get some sleep now.
I really need to get myself to be earlier

WW Weigh-In :)!!



Starting Weight = 320 lbs 

This Week = -6.6 ( -16.8 lbs since back from school)
Lost from start = 42 lbs

I lost 6.6lbs this week!! I'm almost back down to my lowest weight on this journey, very excited, proud and  relived! I was worried I'd be disappointed WW wise, this past week has been all power foods and lots (and lots) of water! 
I'll have to take note of this week....incase  I look back and really try to figure out what happened this week :]

  • WATER
Drinking water like nobody's business..- I peed a ton this past week, just sayin.
  • Power foods
Another goal for this past week was to try and keep things as natural and whole as possible. This lead to a lot of power foods..
  • I really kept track of Sodium, cholesterol and saturated fats...
  • Portion control 
This was a big one & I'm still working on it!

 The lowest I've been while on this journey is about 3 lbs away!!!

Publix had another deal this past week for buy 1 get 1 free
cantaloupe was this weeks miracle snack!

Sweet-Potato Casserole 
My favorite dish to make for the holidays
I made some tweaks that went unnoticed ( in a good way)
added WAY less brown sugar than I usually would...

We had or Rosh Hashanah Dinner last night, our fridge literally only has a huge turkey, brisket, matzo ball soup and sweet-potato casserole in it...
As for the gym, I think we are going back on wednesday! It figures that this week gets a little more difficult after a good  loss :P 

LAST BUT NOT LEAST! (totally unrelated!!)
I just want to let everyone know I'll be beating the last level of Katamari Damacy for PS2 tonight...

no doubt about it! (maybeeee)

Banana Bread!

WHOLE WHEAT B-A-N-A-N-A-BREAD!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • egg
  • 5 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 cup mashed bananas
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions

  1. Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In a large bowl, cream sugar and butter or margarine. Beat the egg slightly, and mix into the creamed mixture with the bananas. Mix in sifted ingredients until just combined. Stir in milk and nuts. Spread batter into one greased and floured 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) until top is brown and cracks along the top.

It was good warm after baking...but waiting the next day, after its been in the fridge for a bit - WHOA-Big difference! So I'd recommend this cold, if you were thinking of trying :]

The recipie I originaly found called for 3 bananas, but banans tend to disappear pretty fast in our house! It made it even harder to have (over) ripe bananas to get ripe :p
I think I'm usually the banana hog, I'm  usually making my shakes and freezing the overnight.

This would be my first loaf of banana bread... I try to not bake much from scratch, especially breads. The only revision I did to the original recipe  was changing regular all purpose flour to whole wheat. I would like to find a recipe with less sugar ( or a natural sweetener?) and butter (margarine)... there must be some substitutes. I'll be looking for another recipe soon, maybe get some walnuts instead of crushed peanuts ( oh yeah, that was the other revision!).

The Holidays are approaching, Rosh Hashanah will be starting this Sunday- and soon after  many more on their way....ahh!!!
That Turkey's got some prime real estate in our fridge! It took a while to make all that room :] SUCCESSES!!
I just asked my mom is she'd mind me finding a more WW friendly way to bake the turkey this year. She is all on board, now I just have to look for one :] !!!


 A few things more from the last post...
1)A little off topic, Just got back from picking up a new script from the Dr. some new birth control that hopefully agree with my body.

2)The birth control MAY not have been what was making my heart race this past week. I ended up making a trip to the cardiologist to talk about my recent issues. Thank goodness my parents have a good relationship with the Dr. I was  able to make a last minute appointment.

He listened to my heart, heard my story, asked me some questions, took a few test (one I took this afternoon, will hear back tomorrow morning) and told me it could be arrhythmia. The arrhythmia could be genetic, but that isn't exactly easy information to come by atm since I was adopted.
Since my heart was not acting up while I was in the office, I was told to listen to my heart rate when it does happen and keep an eye on the numbers.

Other than that, he told me to keep exercising and eating well. In the men time I'll be waiting on those tests  and keep an eye on everything.

WW Weigh-In! & Prescription Issue??


Starting Weight = 320 lbs 
This Week = -2.8 lbs ( -10.2 lbs) 
Lost from start = 36 lbs

I weighed in This weekend, I go on Saturday mornings at 9:30. I lost 2.8 this past week :} yay!
I got my 2nd 5lb star :}! 

It took me a little bit to post this entry because I was feeling a bit under the weather. I hd just gotten a  new prescription for birth control, to regulate my periods. ( They are very out of whack..I'll skip the details). Apparently, it's a common problem for over weight women, so maybe this will cure itself in good time. Anyways, I didn't connect the fact that I had just started a new script to my sick feeling. Long story short... I figured it it, stopped taking the pills. For the most part I'm feeling a lot better, hopefully that was the issue and it's solved.
Those pills made my heart race super fast, I could feel it. I was pretty scared & hope taking this script didn't do any kind of damage,  I was taking it for almost a full week till I'd connected the dots.

After the gym I made myself a lettuce wrap with turkey and mushrooms. That was my 1st lettuce wrap...and it was pretty good! I didn't miss the bread at all.

We've got a lot of star fruit coming in..but nobody in the house eats them! But we do  give them away to friends and neighbors :}

-I keep hearing that, I'm just as taken aback...where has the time gone?!

Lost from start = 32.8 lbs


We had a full moon last night, kinda brought back some memories with my grandma. She and I used to watch the moon together and or apart, it started when I was in sleep way camp one summer. I wrote her a letter telling her how much I had missed her. My grandma responded by telling me that even if we weren't in the same place, we'de still be looking up at the same beautiful moon.

WHOA! Just cough another glimpse of the moon tonight...the moon was a striking orange-yellow color  AND HUGEE, love it. :}

In the meantime... we already getting ready for a nice relaxing labor day {weekend}.  This weekend we'll be grilling, I'm pretty sure it will be just my parents and maybe my brother and his girlfriend.
